Christian Miller Runs Prep Record, Third-Fastest World U20 100 MetersPublished by
Creekside FL Seniors Runs World-Leading 9.93 Seconds By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor Crash Kamon photo Christian Miller from Creekside FL ran the fastest 100-meter time in the world so far this year with his 9.93 clocking Saturday at the Pure Athletics Spring Invitational in Claremont, Fla. Miller, who ran wind-legal 10.06 last year as a junior, moved to No. 3 on the all-time world U20 list with his victory. Miller's performance came in the same meet where high schooler Isaam Asinga ran a wind-aided time of 9.83 seconds last year and beat world champion Noah Lyles. Asinga, then of Montverde Academy, was later provisionally suspended for a doping violation that has yet to be resolved. Asinga also ran a wind-legal 9.89, but his time is not accepted as the record because of the doping charge. Miller had already run 10.14w last month at the Pepsi Florida Relays in Gainesville, Fla. Miller ran his 10.06 to win the USATF U20 Championship last June with the maximum allowable wind reading of +2.0. On Saturday, Miller's 9.93 came with a wind reading of +1.6.
